National Barista Championship 2022: Winner’s Announced!

“Mithilesh Vazalwar”, founder of Corridor Seven Coffee Roasters is the WINNER of the 2022 National Barista Championship India!

National Barista Championship India winner is a certified Q-Grader, roaster, and brewer along with an entrepreneur. He has prepared for almost three months for the competition, and his labours certainly paid off.

“Even though coffee creation has been a long-term passion of mine, this is my first time competing in the National Barista Championship India. It is a challenging competition with multiple rounds and I have dedicated over a month to prepare for the vent; flown to Dubai to get trained and I can say that the result was worth all the effort. My goal is to bring domestic coffee to an international platform and make sure the Indian coffee community is given recognition around the world. Winning NBC as well as receiving the title for ‘Best Signature Drink’ is an elating feeling, and I am extremely grateful to my team and support system for standing by me throughout my journey.” The Champion was quoted on the official social media page of NBC.

The National Barista Championship India 2022 was held from 2nd August to 7Th August 2022. The Coffee Board of India in association with the Speciality Coffee Association of India and the United Coffee Association of India is responsible for organizing the prestigious coffee event.

NBC selects, Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners along with the Champion. All these winners were selected on 7th August, the grand finale of the championship. Word Coffee Events representative -Seonhee Sunny Yoon from South Korea was the Head Judge for the Semi-Finals and Finals of NBC 2022 along with Jagadeesha, (IAS) CEO and Secretary, Coffee Board of India.

Santhosh representing Third Wave Coffee is the well-deserved gold winner of the National Barista Championship India. He won a prize of INR 30,000.

Sandra Girish deservedly is the silver winner of the National Barista Championship India. She won a prize of INR 20,000.

Sanjeevani Mahajan representing Caffeine Baar is the bronze winner of NBC. She won a prize of INR 15,000.

Each of these four baristas has emerged victorious after competing in the most cut-throat brewing championship in the country. All four winners have demonstrated exceptional abilities and expertise in several areas of the coffee-creation process, including flavors, attention to detail, precision, inventiveness, and devotion.

Mithilesh Vazalwar the national champion is now all set to compete on a global scale at the World Barista Championship in Melbourne, Australia, on 27th September 2022.
